Dr. Seleste Upshaw, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner serving patients across the lifespan in community and federally qualified health center settings in Virginia. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Liberty University.
Dr. Upshaw’s clinical work integrates primary care and psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management with lifestyle and behavioral interventions. She has a particular interest in depression and anxiety disorders and in translating evidence on physical activity into feasible, patient-centered prescriptions that complement pharmacotherapy.
She is committed to accessible, whole-person care that respects patient autonomy, addresses medical and psychiatric comorbidities, and remains practical in resource-limited settings. Dr. Upshaw is active in professional nursing organizations and educational activities that strengthen the psychiatric nurse practitioner workforce.
