Dr. Letitia Cofield is a Doctor of Nursing Practice–prepared, dual board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care. With more than 37 years of nursing experience spanning clinical practice, leadership, and education, she brings extensive healthcare knowledge and experience to her work in mental health.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), Dr. Cofield provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatments for adolescents and adults. She is dedicated to creating a safe, compassionate, and judgment-free environment where patients feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing their mental health concerns.

Dr. Cofield takes an evidence-based, patient-centered, and whole-person approach to mental healthcare. She recognizes the important connection between mental and physical health and considers each patient's unique experiences, needs, and goals when developing a treatment plan. Her additional board certification as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC) provides valuable insight into the relationship between medical and behavioral health conditions.

With extensive experience in healthcare leadership and nursing education, Dr. Cofield emphasizes collaboration, patient education, and shared decision-making. Education & Professional Credentials

Dr. Cofield earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she also completed her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner training. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University. She is nationally board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as both a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC). She also maintains active Registered Nurse licensure in Virginia and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
